Setting up Custom Wi-Fi on a 5168N or HomeHub 3000
- How to set up custom Wi-Fi on 5168N
- Ensure you have a device directly connected to the 5168N either with Ethernet or over Wi-Fi.
- Open up a browser and type 192.168.100.254 in the address bar.
- Click on Wireless.
- In the Network section in the Network Name (SSID) field, type in your desired network name.
- In the Security section click on Set custom encryption key: and type in the desired wireless password.
- Your wireless password should be a minimum of eight (8) characters to a maximum of sixty three (63) characters. Acceptable characters include upper and lower case alphabetic letters, numeric digits and special symbols.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Save.
- You will be asked to enter the Default System Password which can be located on the side of the 5168N (section 1).
- If the Default System Password doesn’t work, use the Wi-Fi Key.
- Click Save to save the settings.

- Ensure you have a device directly connected to the HomeHub 3000 or you are connected to the Wi-Fi.
- Open up a browser and type 192.168.100.254 in the address bar.
- Click on Manage my Wi-Fi.
- You will be asked to enter a password. The default Admin password for the HomeHub 3000 is the Serial Number printed on the RG (section 1).
- When entering the Serial Number ensure all letters are in capitals.
- In the Primary Wi-Fi network section you can change the Network Name in the Network name (SSID) section and the Wireless Network Password in the Password field.
- Your wireless password should be a minimum of eight (8) characters to a maximum of sixty three (63) characters. Acceptable characters include upper and lower case alphabetic letters, numeric digits and special symbols.
- You are able to enable the guest Wi-Fi network if required. Devices connected to the guest Wi-Fi network can only access the Internet.
- Click Save.
