How do I setup my Bell MTS Mail on my smartphone?

To get started, you must have an active @mymts.net address and know your email password.

BlackBerry® OS 10
  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Accounts.
  3. Tap Add Account to start the setup wizard.
  4. Tap Email, Calendar and Contacts to start the setup wizard.

  5. Enter your full @mymts.net email address and tap Next.
  6. Enter your email password and tap Next to have the phone attempt to detect your email settings.
  7. Review the detected server settings below to ensure accuracy and update as necessary.
    • Description: Name for account settings.
    • Display Name: Name to be displayed on your outgoing emails.
    • Username: Your @mymts.net email address (e.g. username@mymts.net).
    • Email Address: Your Bell MTS email address or alias (e.g. @mymts.net, @mts.net, @mtsmail.ca) to be displayed on your outgoing emails.
    • Password: Your email password.
    • Server Address: mail.mymts.net
    • Port: 993
    • Encryption: SSL
    • IMAP Path Prefix: Leave field blank.
    • SMTP Username: Your @mymts.net email address (e.g. username@mymts.net).
    • SMTP Password: Your email password.
    • SMTP Server Address: mail.mymts.net
    • SMTP Port: 587
    • SMTP Encryption: StartTLS.
  8. Tap Done to complete setup.
iPhone

Android

Note:

There are various versions of the Android OS in use; these steps describe the most common set up steps.

  1. Open Email app and the device will automatically start the Set up email wizard if no account is configured.
    • If setup does not start automatically, access your email settings and look for an option to add a new account.
    • If asked, select Other as the Email Provider.
  2. Enter your full @mymts.net email address and password.
  3. Tap Manual setup.
  4. When asked for the type of account, tap IMAP account.
  5. Enter:
    • Email address: Your Bell MTS email address or alias (e.g. @mymts.net, @mts.net, @mtsmail.ca) to be displayed on your outgoing emails.
    • Username: Your @mymts.net email address (e.g. username@mymts.net).
    • Password: Your email password.
    • IMAP server: mail.mymts.net
    • Security type: SSL (Accept all certificates).
    • Port: 993
    • IMAP path prefix: Leave this field blank.
  6. Tap Next to test and save incoming server settings.
  7. Enter:
    • SMTP server: mail.mymts.net
    • Security type: TLS (Accept all certificates).
    • Port: 587
    • Require sign-in: Make sure this box is checked.
    • Username: Your @mymts.net email address (e.g. username@mymts.net).
    • Password: Your email password.
  8. Tap Next to test and save outgoing server settings.
  9. Set Account options as desired and tap Next.
  10. Enter:
    • Give this account a name (Optional): Name to describe mailbox settings.
    • Your name (Displayed on outgoing messages): Name to be displayed on your outgoing emails.
  11. Tap Done to complete set up and begin downloading email.
Windows 8.x

Note:

The Windows 7.x or older phones do not support security standards for IMAP or POP3 protocols used by Bell MTS Mail.

In order to access Bell MTS Mail from this phone, open the Internet Explorer app and go to: http://mtsmail.ca. Remember to use your full @mymts.net email address and password to sign in.

  1. On Start, slide left to access the App list, find and tap Settings.
  2. Tap email+accounts from under the system heading.
  3. Tap add an account.
  4. Tap advanced setup to start setup.
  5. Enter your Bell MTS email address or alias (e.g. @mymts.net, @mts.net, @mtsmail.ca) to be displayed on your outgoing emails and email password.
  6. Tap Internet email.
  7. Enter:
    • Account name: Name to describe mailbox settings.
    • Your name: Name to be displayed on your outgoing emails.
    • Incoming email server: mail.mymts.net
    • Account type: IMAP4
    • Username: Your @mymts.net email address (e.g. username@mymts.net).
    • Password: Your email password.
    • Outgoing (SMTP) email server: mail.mymts.net
  8. Tap advanced settings and make sure that all four check boxes are checked:
    • Outgoing server requires authentication.
    • Use the same username and password for sending email.
    • Require SSL for incoming email.
    • Require SSL for outgoing email.
  9. Tap sign in to save settings and begin downloading email.
Using the Browser on Your Phone

You can easily access your @mymts.net mailbox using the browser on your smartphone. Go to mtsmail.ca in your browser and sign in with your @mymts.net email address and password.
