Internet Code Extension

We are committed to meeting all of the requirements of the Internet Code. Due to upcoming systems changes, Bell MTS is delayed in implementing certain requirements of the Internet Code. The CRTC has granted Bell MTS an extension until April 30, 2021. We were compliant with all other provisions of the Internet Code by the required date and we are working diligently to implement the remaining requirements on a rolling basis to benefit our customers at the soonest possible date.

The requirements that we need more time to implement are:

  1. Sending a compliant contract in accordance with prescribed timelines;
  2. Sending a compliant Critical Information Summary in accordance with prescribed timelines;
  3. Sending an updated compliant contact upon request; and
  4. Disconnection only once an account is two months past due and only on weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. or on weekends between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The impact to our customers from this extension should be minimal. During the requested extension period, we will continue to provide customers with written contracts in the existing contract format which outlines our terms of service, the unlimited Internet services included in the contract, the minimum monthly charge for services included in the contract, the indeterminate commitment period, and any one-time fees.
