You have no new messages waiting, but your phone says you do

If your message waiting indicator light or stutter dial tone is indicating that you have messages waiting, but there are no new messages on your voicemail, please follow these steps:

  • Vista 390-350 - Go through the options menu on your telephone and select the Clear Msg Wtg Light option.
  • Regency series - Press and hold down the star * key for five seconds while the phone is hung up.
  • Other phone - Consult your telephone owners' manual for further assistance.

Notes:

  • Remember, after retrieving your messages, make sure you exit your mailbox by pressing * until you hear “goodbye.” This will ensure that your Message Waiting Light turns off.
  • If you have a stutter dial tone when you pick up your phone, indicating that you have messages waiting but there are no new messages on your voicemail, Contact Us.
