3 Way Calling User Guide

At the touch of a button, you can be connected to two different callers in a 3-way call - whether they’re across the country, or around the world.

How 3-Way Calling Works

You can subscribe to 3-Way Calling on a monthly basis, or use it on a Pay Per Use basis. Either way, just follow these simple steps:

  • While you're on the line, press and hold the disconnect/flash/link button for one second to put your first call on hold.
If using 3-Way Calling on a Pay Per Use basis
  1. From a Touch Tone phone, press *71. From a rotary dial phone, dial 1171.

    Areas that have phone numbers beginning with the following numbers do not need to press *71 (242, 246, 278, 322, 324, 325, 326, 327, 344, 346, 349, 355, 375, 377, 383, 388, 422, 423, 424, 425, 426, 429, 434, 437, 467, 646, 739, 745, 762, 822, 829, 876, 878, 886).

  2. Proceed to the instructions below.
If you subscribe to 3-Way Calling
  1. Wait for the dial tone and enter the number of the second party.*
  2. When the second party answers, press and hold the disconnect/flash/link button for one second.
  3. 3-Way Calling should now be in effect.
  4. If you can't reach the second party, press the disconnect/flash/link button twice to return to the original call.
  5. If one of the parties decides to hang up during a 3-way call, just continue talking with the remaining caller.

* Applicable long distance charges apply.
